Oatmeal bread - a recipe for baking, bread can be made from any flour. If there is no flour, you can make it by grinding any cereal in a coffee grinder. The flour after the grinder will be coarse, which is even much more useful. In Britain, the famous soda bread is made from oatmeal, it cooks very quickly and does not need to be kneaded for a long time, this will only spoil the soda bread. To make the dough more sticky, wheat flour should be added to the oatmeal, this will allow the bread to rise better and create a more porous structure.

Recipe Ingredients

Oat Flour 250 g
Wheat Flour 250 g
Water 350 ml
Salt 10 g

Cooking Recipe

To cook recipe for oatmeal bread, mix two types of flour in a bowl, add yeast and rub it into the flour until crumbly. Then add salt, mix and pour in water at room temperature.

Mix all the ingredients well and put on the board, for further kneading. Don't worry if the dough is too sticky, it will change with further kneading. To begin with, you need to literally tear and smear the dough over the surface, moving your hands away from you and towards you.

Next, collect the dough in a lump and continue kneading for another 10-15 minutes, but in a different way. The dough should now be almost beaten off. Sharply lower with a blow to the surface, while holding one edge, the other edge will stick very well to the surface. The edge that remained in the hands is slightly stretched to the sides and covered with it, like a hood stuck to the table. After kneading, transfer the dough to a proofing bowl and cover with a towel or cling film.

The dough should rise within 1-1.5 hours, then put it on a floured surface and knead, but do not overdo it with flour, otherwise the dough may become clogged and heavy, it is better to let it stick slightly. Form a bun from the finished kneaded dough, cover with a film and leave for 1 hour so that the dough comes up.

After the time has passed, the dough will double or even more, now it can be baked, but first you need to apply a pattern on the bread or, as the bakers say, make your signature. With a thin and sharp knife or blade, deep cuts should be made on the surface. Place oatmeal bread in a preheated oven at 220-250°C (430-480°F) and bake 10 minutes. Then lower the temperature to 200-220°C (390-430°F) and bake for another 30 minutes. In order for the bread to have a crispy crust, it is necessary to sprinkle it with water before baking and immediately put it in the oven.
