Beer jelly is a recipe from German cuisine. As it turns out, jelly can be made not only from fruits, berries or vegetables, but also from beer. This jelly is perfect for the Oktoberfest beer festival. It can be served with waffles, or even with a pretzel, a great combination of sweet and salty. The recipe uses light beer, but you can use absolutely any beer you like.

Recipe Ingredients

Sugar 1 kg
Pectin 20 g
Ground Cinnamon 1/4 tsp

Cooking Recipe

The recipe for beer jelly is very simple. Pour sugar into a tall saucepan, pour in the beer and add the remaining ingredients. Mix everything with a whisk and put on medium heat. A tall saucepan is essential because the beer rises to the top as foam during cooking.

The jelly needs to be stirred periodically, and it is better not to leave it at all, as it can very quickly end up on your stove. After 4-5 minutes, pour a small amount of jelly onto a cold plate and check its thickness.

If you are satisfied with the thickness, remove the foam and pour the jelly into sterilized jars and cover with lids. Turn the jars upside down and leave them like that until they cool completely. It is not necessary to store beer jelly in the refrigerator.
