Fried baltic herrings in marinade - Swedish recipe, Baltic herring can be served immediately after frying, or you can marinate.

Recipe Ingredients

Sugar 400 g
Water 600 ml
Allspice 2 tbsp
Bay Leaf 2-3 pcs
Red Onion 2 pcs

Cooking Recipe

For the fried baltic herrings in marinade recipe, flatten the herring and fry in vegetable oil on both sides.

Mix water, vinegar, pepper, bay leaf and sugar. Put the marinade on medium heat and let it boil. Let the marinade boil for 3-5 minutes, and then pour over the fried herring.

After baltic herrings has cooled down, it can be served sprinkled with thinly sliced purple onions.
