Kroppkakor is a Swedish recipe that consists of stuffed potato dumplings. Kropkakor is similar to dumplings, but their main difference is the dough made from potatoes, egg yolks and flour.

Recipe Ingredients

Potatoes 1 kg
Egg Yolk 2-3 pcs
Wheat Flour 250-300 g
For Filling
Onion 1 kg
Ham 200 g

Cooking Recipe

For the kroppkakor recipe, boil the peeled potatoes and mash them into a puree. Add egg yolks and salt to mashed potatoes. After the potatoes have cooled, gradually add flour, kneading the dough. Roll the kneaded dough into a sausage.

Cut the ham into small cubes, finely chop the onion. Fry ham with onion, add pepper. Cut the potato sausage into pieces of about 5 cm. Make a depression in the middle, put the filling and roll into balls.

Place the prepared balls in a pot of boiling salted water. Cook over medium heat without a lid. After kroppkakor pop up, cook for another 5-6 minutes. Serve with melted butter and lingonberry jam.
