Kyufta with mashed potatoes and rosemary is a traditional Azerbaijani dish. Kufta (meatballs) is cooked from ground beef or lamb. Served with rosemary mashed potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients

Beef 500 g
Onion 2 pcs
Potatoes 1 kg
Butter 50 g
Milk 150-200 ml
Turmeric 0.5 tsp

Cooking Recipe

To cook a recipe of Azerbaijani cuisine kufta you need the following. Pass the pulp of beef or lamb and 1 onion through a meat grinder, salt and pepper.

Form small meatballs from minced meat. Soak the formed kufta in salted cold water for 5 minutes.

Cut the remaining onion into half rings, fry in a pan with the addition of turmeric.

Put the kufta in the fried onion and fry meatballs on all sides under the lid over medium heat.

Rinse potatoes, peel and boil. When the potatoes are cooked, drain half the water, add butter, milk and knead everything well. Add rosemary (fresh or dried) to mashed potatoes. Put ready kyufta on a plate with potatoes.
