It is summer and hot outside, and an Azerbaijani hostess always has a soft drink in the refrigerator. One of such drinks in Azerbaijani cuisine is an infusion on lemon with the addition of saffron. Lemon sherbet is very refreshing in hot weather and invigorating. In the cold season, a hot infusion of lemon will warm you and prevent you from catching a cold.

Recipe Ingredients

Lemon 1 pcs
Water 2 l
Sugar 4 tbsp
Imereti Saffron 0.5 tsp

Cooking Recipe

For lemon sherbet, you need to wash, peel and finely chop the lemon. Pour boiling water over lemon, add sugar and mix well. Cover the bowl with poured lemons and let it brew for 8-10 hours.

In a separate bowl, pour a small amount of boiling water over saffron, cover so that the aroma does not evaporate, and also leave to infuse.

After the lemons are infused, mix with saffron.

Strain the lemon sherbet through a strainer into a pitcher and refrigerate. If you consume sherbet during the summer, you can add ice to it when serving. In winter, sherbet is served hot.
