Three Cup Chicken is a Chinese food recipe. Why is this recipe called "three cup chicken"? Yes, because the main ingredients are oil, soy sauce and rice wine, but it is not necessary to use them in such volume - it's just a beautiful name.

Recipe Ingredients

Chicken 1 pcs
Vegetable Oil 3-4 tbsp
Soy Sauce 100 ml
Rice Wine 100 ml
Ginger 2.5 cm
Garlic 2 cloves
Green Onions 1 pcs
Bay Leaf 1-2 pcs
Sesame Oil 2 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Salt 0,5 tsp

Cooking Recipe

For the recipe of Chinese three cup chicken, wash the onion and cut not too finely. Peel and cut the ginger into slices, peel the garlic.

Poultry, not large, but preferably homemade, cut into small pieces. In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil, put sliced ginger, garlic cloves (whole), onion greens, bay leaf, mix and fry lightly. Add the chicken and fry until the water from the chicken has evaporated. Next, fry the chicken until golden brown. Then add soy sauce, mix and simmer over medium heat for 2 minutes, then pour in rice wine, salt, add sugar. Mix everything well and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Transfer the chicken to a clay pot, cover tightly and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring the chicken occasionally. Ready chicken can be served with boiled vegetables or rice, it is very tender, easily separated from the bone. Lay out on a dish chicken pour the sauce in which it was cooked and serve.
