You should not spend a lot of money on expensive wine, any red dry wine is suitable for mulled wine. To give the mulled wine an even more interesting taste and aroma, you can add a small amount of rum or Amaretto liquer to it.

Recipe Ingredients

Red Wine 750 ml
Orange 1 pcs
Water 180 ml
Sugar 2 tbsp
Clove 10 pcs
Cinnamon 2 pcs
Star Anise 2 pcs

Cooking Recipe

To cook mulled wine, wash the orange well and cut the peel, only the orange part of it. You need to cut it carefully so that the white part is as small as possible. Squeeze out juice from half an orange, the other half will go for decoration.

Pour sugar into a saucepan, pour water and put on fire. Stir occasionally to a boil or until sugar is completely dissolved.

For convenience, spices can be placed in a tea bag so that you do not catch and filter mulled wine afterwards. When the sugar has dissolved, add spices, orange zest and half orange juice to the syrup.

Put the syrup with spices on a slow fire and warm for 1-2 minutes, the spices should open, you will feel their aroma. After pouring the wine and boil, also over low heat, for 20 minutes, make sure that the mulled wine does not boil. Ready mulled wine to pour into glasses or cups and that's all, you can bask and celebrate Christmas.
