For the English poached eggs recipe, place the eggs in boiling water and cook for 5-6 minutes. Transfer the boiled eggs to cold water, and then gently peel. To make it easier to peel, beat the eggs on all sides with the flat side of the knife so that mesh-like cracks form on the shell.
Fry slices of bread on both sides in half the butter. Put the fried bread in a portion pan, peeled eggs on top, sprinkle with grated cheese, drizzle with the remaining melted butter and put in the oven.
