Halvaitar – national dish of Uzbek cuisine. Not a single tea party in Uzbekistan is complete without sweets.
- Wheat flour 400 g
- Sugar 200 g
- Walnut 50 g
- Almonds 50 g
- Butter 80 g
- Vanilla sugar 1 tsp
For the recipe for the Uzbek dish halvaitar, fry the flour until brown in hot oil. Boil 2 cups of water in a separate bowl, add sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Let the syrup boil and remove from heat.
Pour the syrup into the fried flour in a thin stream and mix until smooth. Scald the almonds with boiling water and remove the skin. Twist the peeled almonds and walnuts in a meat grinder or chop with a blender.
Combine chopped nuts with flour and syrup, and cook over low heat until the consistency of thick sour cream. At the end of cooking, add vanilla sugar. Put the finished halvaitar into a flat rectangular shape, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cool. After the halvaytar cools down, cut into pieces and put on a dish.
