Janson's Temptation Casserole is a Swedish recipe. After the publication of this dish in 1940, the casserole has become one of the most popular traditional Swedish dishes at Christmas.

Recipe Ingredients

Potatoes 1.2 kg
Anchovy 400 g
Onion 400 g
Cream 33% 600 ml
Breadcrumbs 1 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

For the recipe Jansson's temptation casserole, peel the potatoes and cut into strips. Cut the onion into slices and fry in butter. Cut anchovies into fillets.

Grease a baking dish with butter, put a part of the potato on the bottom in an even layer, top with a layer of half the onion, salt and pepper. Put anchovies on a layer of onions, cover with a layer of potatoes. Then again a layer of onions, salt and pepper, a layer of anchovies.

The last layer of potatoes and pour cream, put a few pieces of butter and put in a preheated oven to 250°C (480°F). Bake casserole for 1 hour.
