Shaker churek - cookies according to the recipe of Azerbaijani cuisine. The most time-consuming process in the preparation of sheker churek is to dilute the yeast in proteins.

Wheat Flour 500 g
Butter 350 g
Eggs 2 pcs

Cooking Recipe

For the shaker churek recipe, separate the whites from the yolks. Dilute yeast in proteins and set aside for 1 hour in heat. After the yeast with proteins come up, add melted and chilled butter and powdered sugar to them. Beat the resulting mass for 20 minutes, and then gradually add the sifted flour.

Knead a stiff dough and knead it for another 15 minutes. Roll the prepared dough into a long sausage and cut into small pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the prepared dough balls on it.

In each ball, make a notch with your finger and brush this notch with beaten yolk with your finger. Bake shaker churek at 160°C (320°F) for 15-20 minutes, cookies should be lightly browned.
