Bell pepper or sweet pepper – varieties of capsicum, characterized by a lack of sharpness and a sweet taste. Bell pepper belongs to the same genus as hot pepper, only the content of capsaicin, which imparts sharpness, is much lower in sweet pepper. Some types of sweet pepper are also called bell pepper. Bell pepper is widely used in cooking for salads and many other dishes.
