Cabbage rolls with fish – Ukrainian cuisine recipe is very simple and delicious. Sea fish with white meat is used for cabbage rolls. Basically it is hake, pollock or cod. Garlic sauce complements cabbage rolls with fish very well.

Recipe Ingredients

Merluza 1.5 kg
White Bread 3-4 slices
Onion 3 pcs
Vegetable Oil 2-3 tbsp
Dill 3-4 twig
For Sauce
Vegetable Oil 0.5 cup
Garlic 6-7 cloves

Cooking Recipe

The recipe for stuffed cabbage with fish is very simple. Cut the stalk from the cabbage, it is not needed. Boil the cabbage in salted water until the leaves are soft and can be easily removed.

Soak the bread with water, remove the bones from the fish. Twist bread with fish in a meat grinder.

Finely chop the onion and fry in vegetable oil. Twist the prepared onions and fish with bread again in a meat grinder, salt and pepper.

Put a small amount of fish stuffing into cabbage leaves and roll up with an envelope.

Place the prepared cabbage rolls tightly in a baking dish and pour over the cabbage broth. Cook cabbage rolls in an oven preheated to 180°С (355°F) for 1 hour.

Grind garlic with salt in a mortar, mix with vegetable oil. Ready stuffed cabbage put on a plate, pour garlic sauce and sprinkle with finely chopped dill.
