Camembert appetizer (Obazda) – a German cuisine recipe, this appetizer is an integral part of Bavarian culture. It is cooked during the summer and at Oktobrfest, served between meals. If "Camembert" is very spicy for you, replace it with "Brie", it has a less pronounced taste of white mold. To enhance the flavor of the cheese, it is best to serve this snack with bran bread or whole grain flour or crispbread. After cooking, the snack must be kept in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours, so its taste will be more intense and harmonious. However, it does not need to be cooked in advance, for example, a day in advance, or in the evening; onions added to the appetizer will give a not very pleasant bitterness.

Cooking Recipe

For a camembert appetizer, chop the onion finely, the smaller the better. Remove the Camembert and butter from the refrigerator 15 minutes before cooking.

Crumble into a bowl, and then mash Camembert cheese with butter with a fork. Add cream cheese, paprika, cumin, salt and ground black pepper. Mix everything, and only now add beer. Pour the beer gradually, stirring the spread, the amount of beer may be different, the main thing is that the snack is not too thick.

Roll balls from the resulting mass, put them on a plate or better on a cutting board and refrigerate for solidification. It is advisable to do everything quickly so that the oil does not float much. After 1-2 hours take out the appetizer, garnish with purple onions, cut into slices and serve with a bun, pretzels, bread, radishes and of course beer.
