Open pies with mushrooms – it is a small open puff pastry pie stuffed with mushrooms and meat. These pies are served with rice and peas. The dough can be baked ahead of time and reheated afterwards.

Recipe Ingredients

Puff Pastry 450 g
Mushrooms 800 g
Meat 300 g
Butter 2 tbsp
Onion 1 pcs
Cream 15% 100 ml
Garlic 1 clove
Curry 1 tsp
Eggs 1 pcs

Cooking Recipe

For the open mushroom pies recipe, roll out the dough to about 1 cm, cut out 12 circles. In 6 circles, cut out the middle, you get a bagel.

Lubricate the uncut circles with an egg, and put the carved bagels on top.

Lubricate the prepared pies with an egg and bake at 220°C (430°F) for 15-20 minutes.

For the filling, mince the garlic and lightly fry in oil. Add finely chopped onion and lightly sauté over medium heat.

Cut the meat into small cubes and add to the onion, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Then pour in the wine and chopped mushrooms, mix and simmer under the lid for 5 minutes. Remove the lid and increase the heat and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half. Pour in the cream, mix, add curry, pepper, nutmeg and salt. Put the prepared filling into hot pies and serve immediately.
