Cardamom shortbread cookies is a national dish of Indian cuisine, applesauce can be added to the cookie dough.

Recipe Ingredients

Butter 250 g
Wheat Flour 300 g
Semolina 85 g
Baking Powder 1/4 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp

Cooking Recipe

For the cardamom shortbread cookies recipe, sift the flour and mix with semolina, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl, beat the butter with cardamom until creamy, then gradually pour in the powdered sugar. When everything is well mixed, without ceasing to interfere, gradually add flour.

Knead a smooth dough, it should look like plasticine, from which you can mold anything. Spread the prepared dough around the entire perimeter of a dry rectangular baking sheet.

Cut the pastry sheet into 24 squares, pierce each with a fork and bake for 1 hour at 120°C (250°F). After the cookies become slightly pinkish, they must be removed from the oven, sprinkled with sugar if desired, and allowed to cool. Cut the cooled cookies into already pre-marked strips, remove from the pan and serve.
