Salad "cabbage under a coat" – salad, so to speak, from the remains of the well-known "herring under a fur coat." I thank my mom for this recipe. She never managed to cook the right amount of vegetables for herring, vegetables were always left over. I must admit I have the same problem. And so, my mother decided that she could cook another salad, put ordinary white cabbage instead of herring. Lettuce was destroyed even faster than everyone's favorite with herring. I slightly altered this salad, replacing the white cabbage with Peking cabbage, it is more tender.

Recipe Ingredients

Potatoes 4-5 pcs
Beets 1-2 pcs
Eggs 3-5 pcs
Green Onions 4-5 pcs
Dill 4-5 twigs

Cooking Recipe

To cook salad "cabbage under a fur coat" recipe, finely chop Chinese cabbage, pepper and salt. If you use white cabbage, then after chopping it you need to salt it and mash it well with your hands so that it becomes softer and let the juice flow. Put the cabbage in a bowl or on a flat dish.

Squeeze a small amount of mayonnaise and finely chopped green onions on top of the cabbage.

Peel and grate the boiled potatoes, and then lay them on top of the green onions. Salt potatoes and again a small layer of mayonnaise.

Next is the candle. Peel the boiled beets from the peel and, like the potatoes, grate. Lay out the grated beets in an even layer and lightly salt.

Peel the boiled eggs and chop finely. Put the chopped eggs on top of the beets, salt and pepper. Mayonnaise is optional on top, but it seems to me that there is enough of it in the salad. Top salad garnish with finely chopped dill or parsley and place in the refrigerator for at least an hour, and then serve to table.
