For beans boiled in sauce finely chop the onion, or better, grate it. In the washed beans, add half the grated onion, butter, salt, pepper and water, so that it just covers the beans. Cover the beans with a lid and cook over medium heat.
When beans are almost cooked, add the remaining onion, finely chopped greens, and if the gravy is too thick, add a small amount hot water. Serve the beans boiled in the sauce hot.
