"Knots" cookies is a recipe of Belarusian cuisine, crispy biscuits cooked in a large amount of vegetable oil. Butter can be replaced with margarine or smalec.

Recipe Ingredients

Wheat Flour 250 g
Butter 75 g
Sugar 60 g
Chicken Eggs 1 pcs
Sour Cream 40 ml
Caraway 1 tsp
Salt 0.5 tsp
Vegetable Oil 2 cups

Cooking Recipe

For the "Knots" cookies recipe, beat fat with sugar, add beaten egg, sour cream, cumin and salt. Mix the flour with the baking powder and, gradually pouring it into the mixture, knead the dough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.

Then roll out the dough into a thin layer and cut into strips of 10x1.5 cm. Roll the knots from the cut strips and deep-fry.

Put the finished cookies on a sieve to drain excess fat and cool. Sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar and serve.
