Banitsa is an interesting and original dish of Bulgarian cuisine. Cooking it is pretty easy. A banitsa is cooked from dough with bryndza cheese filling.

Recipe Ingredients

For Dough
Water 1.5 cups
Foe Filling
Chicken Eggs 4 pcs
Yogurt 500 ml
Soda 0.5 tsp
Butter 100 g

Cooking Recipe

For banitsa, it is necessary to knead a stiff dough from flour, salt and water. Set the dough aside for 1 hour.

For the filling, mash the cheese, beat the egg with yogurt and combine everything. Add soda, mix well.

After the dough has settled, divide it into several parts, and roll out a thin layer of no more than 1 mm from each part. Greasethe layers of dough with oil, put the filling and twist into rolls.

Twist the prepared rolls in the form of a snail and put on a baking sheet. Top with sparkling water or lemonade. Bake banitsa in the oven at 180-200°C (355-390°F) for 25-30 minutes.
