Swedish meatballs are in the sauce to make them juicier. Such meatballs are often served with lingonberry jam.

Recipe Ingredients

Minced Beef 500 g
Eggs 1 pcs
Milk 80 ml
Breadcrumbs 1 cup
Garlic 1 clove
For Sauce
Broth 500 ml
Milk 100 ml
Wheat Flour 2 tbsp
Butter 2 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

For the meatballs recipe, you need to mix the minced meat with all the ingredients and knead well. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, arrange the shaped meatballs, and bake at 220°C (430°F) for 15 minutes.

Melt the butter in a separate bowl and sauté the flour. Whisking constantly, pour in milk, broth, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Reduce heat and simmer until thick. The finished sauce should be similar to pancake batter. Put the baked meatballs into a bowl with sauce and mix. Serve meatballs with lingonberry jam.
