Salt 5 g
Brandy 2 tbsp
Butter 25 g

Cooking Recipe

The recipe for Hanukkah donuts is very simple. Dissolve yeast in warm water, 1 tsp. sugar and 2 tbsp. flour. Set aside for 10-15 minutes. Add the remaining sugar, salt, lemon zest to the sifted flour and mix. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour, add the beaten eggs and mix. It is better to make the dough in a food processor, it is quite sticky. Finally, add softened butter and knead until smooth. Grease your hands with olive oil, form the dough into a ball and place in a bowl.

Meanwhile, pour 5 cm of vegetable oil into a deep frying pan and heat. Place the risen dough balls directly with the paper into the oil, then remove the paper. The paper is needed to prevent the donuts from becoming deformed. Fry the donuts on both sides until golden brown.

Sprinkle the finished donuts with powdered sugar and fill with jam. The jam must first be lightly beaten to make it more homogeneous and thick. If desired, you can add cream cheese to the jam.
