To cook a recipe of Ukrainian cuisine potato dumplings with butter and onions, peel the potatoes, cut into pieces and boil in salted water.
When the potatoes are boiled, drain the water and mash the potatoes with butter, salt and fresh eggs. Mix everything, add the sifted flour and put on the stove, without ceasing to stir, warm the dough for 2-3 minutes. Then turn the dough out onto a floured board and knead.
From the prepared dough, roll a tourniquet with a diameter of approximately 15 mm. Cut the dough rope into dumplings, approximately 1 cm. Peel the onion, cut into half rings and fry in hot vegetable oil.
Boil water in a deep saucepan, add dumplings and boil for 2-3 minutes, after they float, after a minute, put the dumplings in a colander and pour boiling water over. Let the water drain, transfer dumplings to the prepared dish, put the fried onion on top, pour with oil, from the onion, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs. Sprinkle with ground black pepper and serve.
